Showtime for Guides 2012

The Waratah & Gumnut Guides were very busy in the lead up to the Coonabarabran Show making Icing plaques and iced biscuits, painting for the art section and creating a scarecrow which were all entered in the show. The Guides were very proud to do the Guard of Honour and raise the flag for the official opening of the Coonabarabran Show on Saturday afternoon. It was lovely to see all those girls in the relatively new Guide uniform with the Southern Cross emblazoned across the back. The different shades & combinations of colours vary depending on if they are a Junior Guide, Guide or Leader.

Last week the Waratah Guides were busy working on their camping skills in preparation for the girls attending the upcoming Junior Guide camp in Grenfell and the Canberra Jamboree whilst the new Gumnut Guides have been busy learning about Guiding, the Guide Promise and Guide laws through games and activities. One of the activities was creating a little bead doll that includes colours that represent elements of the Guiding Promise and Laws.
